Support for Canterbury Shakespeare Festival 2018 Season on 27th July to 19th August at various venues across Canterbury, allowing a wide range of people from local communities a chance to take part in Shakespearian plays as viewers and participants.

Support for the community choir’s summer concert, which presents Schubert’s Mass in C and Haydn’s Te Deum No. 2 at St. Mary’s Arts Centre, Sandwich, in September.

Support for the development and performance of a theatre piece devised with a drama group of adults with physical disabilities - with professional support - in Folkestone. This will lead to two ‘scratch/feedback’ performances at Folkestone Quarterhouse and the Gulbenkian Theatre in January 2018.

Support with the hosting of a public exhibition, held at Beach Creative, Herne Bay, of over 70 specially commissioned prints, capturing images of the three partner cities, Canterbury, Vladimir (Russia) and Bloomington-Normal (USA). Around 300 visitors attended and the exhibition will be repeated in Folkestone in September 2017.

Support for costs of staging a concert by the Conchord Ensemble (wind quartet and piano) in January.

Provision of a bursary for the two main prizewinners at the annual festival in November towards the cost of attending the Kent International Piano Course.

Support for a Children’s Arts Festival in August. It will comprise more than 20 creative classes, including drama, dance, music, pottery, art and craft, on the theme ‘Time and Tide’, focussing on Whitstable’s oyster fishery, sailing and seaside. It is designed both to introduce children to different art forms and spark their interest in the town’s marine heritage.

Support for performance of a series of new theatre pieces ‘Women Of Kent’ celebrating the lives of Ellen Terry, Vita Sackville West and the Boleyns.

Support towards the purchase of new plastic display stands for fine art and craft exhibition at Faversham in May, and which can be used for future exhibitions.

Support for the Society’s annual exhibition being held at The Horsebridge Art Centre, Whitstable, from 25 October to 7 November.

To support their collaboration with a French reggae band, make a music video and collaborative recording, and put on a joint performance.
