Canterbury Arts Council is an independent umbrella body which receives funding from a number of Patrons, notably Canterbury City Council, and from the affiliation fees of its members. To join, please download an application form from here.

Its aims are to encourage and assist in presenting public concerts, recitals, dramatic performances, art exhibitions, lectures, arts festivals and other arts events in the Canterbury district.

CAC makes assistance available by way of support and advice, publicity, offers of guarantees against loss, and limited grant aid. Applicants may be organisations or individuals, amateur or professional.

CAC is keen to support new work, the involvement of professional artists, the participation of young people plus those with disabilities or disadvantages in other ways, joint ventures, and other events which widen awareness of the arts and seek to build new audiences.

We hope that our website will prove useful - particularly its listing of members' future activities. We encourage organisations to enter projected dates and events as far ahead as possible in the hope that clashes may be avoided.

We are grateful for the support of our Patrons:
