Work Placement Opportunity with Animate Arts

Animate Arts Company is offering work placements on a unique project for schools across Kent. ‘The Garden of England’ project will be led by a team of experienced artists delivering a series of workshops to design and build a garden, made entirely from paper and card.

This project is part of a school programme by Kent’s Campaign for London 2012. Schools involved are located in three areas of Kent; Maidstone, Ashford and Herne Bay. This placement offers an opportunity to work in a range of different schools (secondary, primary and special needs) in one of these geographical areas, supporting a professional artist working with the teachers and pupils.

Workshops are currently being booked and planned with schools, so exact dates are not yet available. However placements will involve ten days of workshops, between January and March 2012. There are additional opportunities within the project for individuals to get involved with the ‘behind the scenes’ production of this project too.

The work placement artist will need a CRB check, valid within two years of issue (or agree to undertake a check, arranged and paid by Animate Arts).  Although no fee is available, expenses for travel are available and the placement will offer valuable experience and develop partnerships to work with Animate Arts in the future.
