The ESU is an international educational charity with a head office in London. We have branches in many areas of the UK, USA and Australia, and also in over 100 countries worldwide. Our aim is to promote international understanding through the use of the English language. We run international debate and public speaking competitions and offer bursaries for education. The local branch sponsors Shakespeare and public-speaking workshops for local school children and offers scholarships to young musicians and actors. We also run an interesting programme of social events to raise funds for our charitable work.
