I am a part time artist who makes three dimensional illuminated objects. Originally these were like self contained light machines which projected patterns onto translucent external surfaces. As time has gone by I have become more interested in the internal spaces of the objects. So In the last few years I have made what I call light boxes, where the structure is open at various points providing windows into a lit interior. Often there are visual illusions which attempt to enlarge and distort the viewers perception of the internal space. I try to make the works attractive to look at but the essential thing is to draw the viewer to peer inside.
I have shown my work as part of the Canterbury Festival in 2006 and 2010. I intend to show again in 2013 if I can find a suitable place.
